It all started with a walk around Clover

It all started with a walk around with my good mates Ryan and Andy and it was all happening the carp were at it like rabbits. There was fish everywhere we looked. That was it we were hooked on clover we just had to get a ticket. So off we went with all sorts of thoughts going through our heads what rigs, what bait, where to fish on the lake and we hadn’t even got a ticket yet. So we got on the website and found the info sent it away and sat waiting to hear if we were lucky enough to get a ticket and yes we did. So off we went the day we got the card through with just one rod a net a mat and a small bag of goodies and yet again we couldn’t believe what we were seeing. Fish crashing all over but no nothing happened then we got talking to the other members and then out the blue came Malcolm and what a bloke we had a chat and a laugh and he told us that he had only landed a handful of fish since he had been a member we thought he was pulling our legs. Soon after we bumped into Nick now that is a pair that should be on telly when together we had a right laugh. Then the fish started to come as the weeks went by but I just couldn’t seem to land them I lost 4 very good fish at the net and in the margins and 2 to the weed I must have been doing something wrong. So I spoke to nick and he put me on to the same rig he was using the next trip I put it to use and at 8:30am my right hand rod screamed into life and I was doing battle with yet another angry carp but this one I wasn’t going to loose Ryan was on the bank holding my rod and I was in the water doing battle with the beast then out of no where it swam and hit me square in the face at that point I knew it was a good fish. Before long it was on the mat and I was looking down at a 21.13lb common yes I shouted with a punch in the air I’ve done it put the first one on the bank. After that I went on to land a tench. I just can’t wait to get back out there.
