Little Houghton Lakes

The Barrage at Sunset

HOUGHTON WATER

Situated in Little Houghton, Northamptonshire in secluded private farmland.

We are delighted to be able to offer places to become part of a small exclusive syndicate on the Railway Lake and/or River Lake.

These mature gravel pits excavated during the 1960’s and 1970’s, have never been available for fishing to the public, before last year, when a small selective syndicate were allowed to fish for the first time. Consequently the potential of both these lakes is still very much unknown. The first fish from the Railway Lake was a stunning 36lb+ common, further mirrors and commons over 30lb were also caught. The River Lake was seldom fished due to the success of the Railway, but like the Railway we are sure this seldom fished lake contains large uncaught carp.

These lakes are contained within private farmland; vehicle access is excellent, with secure parking.

THE BARRAGE LAKE

This lake has remained un-fished since being controlled by a local angling club.

It’s a relief reservoir for the River Nene, in excess of 40 acres, is unique to the area. Luscious grassy banks to the water’s edge, provides spacious fishing. Only lightly fished last year by a small syndicate common carp to almost 40lb (39lb 14oz) and mirror carp over 35lb. This is truly untapped water offering a real challenge to the pioneering angler.

Access through farmland, secure parking on site.

N.B. A small area of the bank is not available for fishing.

NEWS-41 lb Common caught from Barrage. In the captors own words "Had a steady take at around 8.40pm and after 25 min tussle landed the carp.Fish caught on a snowman rig (2 x 15mm boilies) over a small bed of pellets (tiger nut). The funniest moment was my mate Mark's face when he netted the fish and tried to lift the landing net, he turned to me and said ' F*@K me its huge'
